Join Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi for a whole new set of spellbinding adventures across time and space in the eighth season of BBC America’s hit show Doctor Who!
Jenna Coleman (Captain America: The First Avenger) returns as the Doctors companion Clara for what promises to be the most electrifying season yet!
What We Thought:
It always takes me at least a season to warm up to new Doctors on Doctor Who. I really liked Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor, and ever since then, it always takes a season or two before I’m completely comfortable with a new one.
So, not surprisingly, I don’t love Peter Capaldi as The Doctor yet. Season Eight has some great episodes to be sure, but I haven’t quite warmed up to his crustier, crankier Doctor yet.
Luckily, Jenna Louise Coleman is still The Doctor’s companion, and that makes it all okay. Frankly, she’s so charming, sweet, funny, and beautify, I would watch her read the phone book. She definitely helps balance out Capaldi for me.
Of course, the show is smart to bring in some classics when they’re shaking things up, so you can also look forward to returning favorites such as The Daleks and Cybermen.
While not my favorite season of the show, it’s not my least favorite, either. Capadi has a lot of promise, and I’m sure I’ll embrace him eventually.
