A Second Chance At Sarah

Main Plot Points:

  • As his wife Sarah lies dying, John makes a deal with a demon for a desperate chance to save her!

  • Transported to their childhood, John gets a single day to prevent the tragedy that led to Sarah’s present-day doom, all while trying to convince her that he really is who he says!

What We Thought:

  • Unexpectedly sweet, if open-ended tale of what a man will do to save the mother of his child, and what we’re tempted to sacrifice for the ones we love.

  • The story treads familiar ground, and the dialogue is a little clunky, but it’s a satisfying read nonetheless.

  • The art is quite lovely, with a clear though not overwhelming manga influence.

  • I really liked the extra Making Of section which shed light on the collaboration between Druckman and Wong. It’s always fascinating to sneak a peek at the creative process, and learn a bit more about the technicalities that make the final product.
